Saudi backing means that there is a lot of money on the line. The Super Golf League or SGL seems to have evolved from a prior concept. More than a year ago, a Saudi-backed group was floating the idea for a professional golf league that was called the Premiere Golf League.

How many tournaments will the SGL have?

Under preliminary guidelines, the SGL would run a series of 18 tournaments events. If the league were to have 10 teams, teams would get the chance to face each other twice during the league’s regular season.
